Dependent on your requirements, any of the following services may apply:

Surveying & project management services: Marlowe’s team of surveyors are experienced in the preparation of building repair schedules and project management for all insurable perils, from risk event to completion.

Water damage restoration: whether it’s a leak or major flood that has caused damage, our own in-house water damage restoration team or specialist partners will respond quickly, effectively and appropriately. Dehumidifiers can be installed to dry out affected areas and regular progress checks are made. Fast response times, efficient drying technologies and effective management of the project can negate the need for substantial reconstruction work.

Fire damage restoration: Trade professionals and specialist partners can be on-site within hours of the incident. This fast response is critical to minimise the damage caused by fire and smoke contamination. Once on-site, the extent and nature of the damage is accurately determined to ensure the correct course of action and negate the risk of consequential damage.

Subsidence and structural repairs: Our commitment to continual improvement and development enables us to provide effective and economical solutions to a wide range of structural problems. Marlowe’s experienced structural repair team have all completed the Thor Helical Remedial Technicians Installation Course and are able to deal with all structural and subsidence repairs, whatever the size.

Building insurance claims management

If you’ve ever handled a household building insurance claim, you’ll know that it can involve numerous telephone calls, meeting trades people, chasing quotes etc. With over 15 years working closely with insurers, loss adjusters and claims advisers, Marlowe knows the industry inside out. We use this to your advantage to get things moving quickly, minimising the stress and trauma involved.

Marlowe provides a free of charge* service that comprehensively deals with the management of the claim on your behalf. This is how it works:

  • You call the Marlowe helpline number or use the contact request form
  • Marlowe contacts you and appoints a dedicated claims manager to manage your claim free of charge.* They identify at the initial visit if any drying (for water damage claims) is required to mitigate any further loss and make the necessary arrangements including make-safe works, boarding up and strip out should these be necessary. After surveying the damage to your property, they prepare and submit a detailed schedule of works to your insurer
  • Marlowe liaises directly with your insurer or their representative to obtain a written authorisation for the repairs
  • Upon receipt of your insurer’s authorisation, Marlowe provides you with a detailed schedule of the authorised works for signing off and agree a start date. Upon receipt of any policy excess payment that may be due,** Marlowe undertakes all the building repair works using our own directly employed trade professionals and building repair partners, ensuring all works are completed to your total satisfaction
  • Marlowe invoices your insurance company directly upon completion of the works.

*Marlowe will offer a claims management service free of charge, subject to receiving a signed mandate from the policyholder authorising:
1. Marlowe to manage the building insurance claim
2. Marlowe to undertake the building repair as authorised by the insurer
3. Payment of invoices in respect of the building works to be paid directly from the insurance company to Marlowe.

**Any policy excess has to be paid by the policyholder to Marlowe prior to commencement of works.

Broker solutions

Marlowe’s broker solutions service enables independent insurance brokers to provide an enhanced policyholder experience at the point of a building insurance claim for personal, commercial or landlord property business.

  • Agreement and production of performance/service standards
  • Set-up of dedicated call line for the broker and policyholders

Disabled adaptions

If you find it difficult to do everyday tasks in your home you might benefit from having your home adapted. There are a variety of adaptations that could enhance and support independent living for elderly and disabled people with mobility difficulties.

Marlowe has a dedicated special projects team, fully-experienced in disabled adaptations. Our team liaise closely with occupational therapists in our area, who if required, are able to assist in assessing your specific needs. The social services department of your local council can arrange an assessment for you.

  • Kitchen adaptations including height adjustment units

Private individuals may be interested to note that disabled facilities grants are available from local councils to help towards the cost of these adaptations, when the council considers that the changes are necessary to meet your needs and that the work is reasonable and practical.

Howdens Joinery has over 40 inspirational kitchens and designs for you to choose from and its CAD design experts will plan your kitchen with you and work closely with your dedicated Marlowe project manager to ensure you get your dream kitchen.
